Okay I joined Sprint last week and bought the Sprint Touch. I then heard to get the GPS program I had to upgrade to 6.1 so I went to www.america.htc.com/touchupdate and went through the process to install it. The phone begins the download and at 10% of the install to the phone, The phone shuts off and turns back on which of course makes it loose the connection to the USB for a minute and when it reconnects I get a error, and then then it wont let me retry and I get the 4 color screen with no ROM installed. I tried it on the first phone this weekend and that screwed the phone up with what I just mentioned and then I went and exchanged it (Telling them it just crashed, because if you tell them it was from the upgrade they wont exchange it) so today I try it on the new one and it did the same exact thing so now I guess I wont be trying this again. Has anyone else had this issue with the upgrade?
Before starting, did you shut off your desktop PC's screen saver, sleep mode, hibernate, HD power down, and everything like that?
