Okay I got touch today for my wife and I miss my Treo, PPC6700, MDA and all other smartphones that I used to date within just 1 hour of using Touch. Main problem with Touch I think is lack of proper input method. The keyboard on Touch seems to be bit wierd. Is there any keyboard application that people are using on their Touch ? Other problem I found is the number of locations on Touch Weather are too limited. It doesnot allow you to enter your home location although it is getting data from Accuweather.com.
I'll see for a week if I dont find good application will return Touch as it is too complicated to keyin data.

There are a few 3rd party keyboards out there, but the ones I've tried are TouchPal, Happy Tapping, and SPB Full Screen Keyboard. Happy Tapping keyboard is free and is Iphone-like, TouchPal has a free version and a professional version for $10, and SPB Full Screen Keyboard is $10 with a 14 day free trial. Out of all 3, I ended up sticking with the free version of TouchPal, which is leaps and bounds better than the stock touch keyboard.
You might want to try Yahoo! Go for your weather problems. I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard good things about it.

Download the htc home plug in and it will let you customize your weather and everything else for that matter. I like the spb full screen keyboard myself. I actually wanted the touch because it does NOT have the keyboard. I liked that! Look around at all the forums and web sites. You can customize this phone more than any other I have ever seen. If you are not into the gadget thing though it may not be the phone for you. I went from palm (which I loved) to touch which I love more than any phone ever.

You can download the happy tapping keyboard there. You have to sign up first before you can download it, but it's free, and they don't spam.

You might like zoomboard from Vito technology. They offer the same features, and they have a window that pops up that is like a magnifying glass. It displays the keyboard where your finger is pressed down. If you're finger is not on the correct key, it's very easy to "roll" your finger and select the correct letter. I think it's around $10 also. Here's the link:

Maybe I linked it wrong... anyways this hack gives you the big 40 key "password" keyboard that comes with the stock touchkeyboard the anyways it turns the 20 key tapper keyboard into the 40 key... Even though it may say that it does not intall without hard reset i have uninstalled and reinstalled this cab many times with no adverse affect of course as always make backup up your registry just in case some catastrophic accident happens...of all the keyboards i have tried and i have tried them all this works the best for me...
you will lose T9 and word prediction...
Hopefully this post sticks

My keyboard of choice right now is TouchPal. Hated it at first, but quickly realized it was the quickest and easiest for me
