I called Sprint Telesales (800.777.4681) today and tried to order a Touch. Only after the agent confirmed, with her supervisor that it can only be ordered starting Nov.1, was I promised that they would call me back then.

well it's nov 1st. i called twice and telesales still doesn't see it in the computers (database).

 

anyone else try today?

I tried yesterday (31st) -- I wanted to beat the rush...  They told me 'no can do' until the 4th.  Was hoping to see some positive results here today.

Anybody else?

I called today (Nov 1) and was told that they were not available yet.  But I could put my name on the list for when they were available and get a call back when my order was placed.  Telesales is not open on Sunday when the phone goes on hard-sell, so I'm not expecting a call back until Monday at the earliest.

Do you mean that your phone order is in and that you will receive a "processed and sent" call, or do you mean that you will have to place the order when they call back?

My order has been placed and they will call me with a confirmation number once the order has been submitted.  Again, this may be sometime Monday or later.

I tried twice today (Nov 1st) with same results.  Nothing.  Both times they tried to sell me a Mogul.  They didn't even know what the Touch was.

Well... it is November 4th and 2 of my local Sprint stores do NOT yet have the Touch available for sale!!!!

Wow... what a big screw-up for Sprint marketing!!!

They now get a phone that is way ahead of the competition and botch the roll-out of it.  I went to my local Sprint store (2 of them) and they "guessed" that they may be in later this week and just to check back.  What poor customer service and what a way to kill the "hype" that has been generated on the internet and sites like this one.

After going to the second store, I was told where to go to get one, but they are closed on Sunday's... so I guess I will have to wait until Monday, November 5th!!!!

I will stay with Sprint and have been a customer since 1994, but wow, every month you read news reports that Spring is loosing marketshare, customers and recently their CEO due to poor company performance.

I am surprised that Sprint has not started national advertising and tried to copy the "hype" that Apple did with the I-phone?  At least pick a date that you know your company can meet and then "market the heck out of it"!!!  Nothing worse than telling a loyal customer, or a new one, that a new phone is not yet available even though the internet and official press releases from Sprint state otherwise.

I just hope that cases and car-charger plugs are available as part of the roll-out to ensure 100% customer satisfaction... makes sense to me, but maybe not to Sprint??

By the way, yes the stores told me that I could order over the internet, but I do not want to wait and what a hassel as they stated it would be available on 11/4... but hopefully living in Kansas City and having access to the corporate HQ's will pay off for getting one tomorrow or later this week?

Good luck to all and please advise where and when anyone was able to finally get a "Touch".

Hey I ordered one over the internet, but I had to finalize the sale over the phone because they got my zip code wrong. The sales person told me that they had a abundance of the Touch and that they knew that it would be a good seller for them.

Sprint does thing backwards all the time, I was a Nextel person and when I bought the new i930 when it first came out the same thing happened. That has been two or almost three years ago. Nothing has changed and it seems to get worst.

Take Care and I hope everyone gets thier order in on time, I've seen this before and what will happen is they will take it off thier site soon because of aviliablity.
